Ever-changing Federal laws currently allow the domestic air travel for patients holding an MMAR card (or proof that their cannabis/cannabis products have been purchased through a Federal Licensed Producer). It is not recommended that you use your dispensary card as protection for air travel.

Due to the security requirements of airline travel, it is recommended to transport your medicinal cannabis by car when possible. Drivers must give officers a reason to be pulled over and/or searched. Driving responsibly, obeying traffic laws and keeping your medicine in a sealed container out of the reach of the driver (similar to traveling with alcohol) will work to your favour if dealing with law enforcement. Keeping a copy of your doctor’s referral in your vehicle or on your person, will also help your case.

Because you have purchased though our dispensary (which requires a doctor’s referral) you have purchased medicine. Law enforcement may be more or less strict, depending on your location (it is your responsibility to stay current on any applicable changing laws). Each interaction with law enforcement is different. Much of the outcome will be based on personal conduct, initial cause for warranted attention and/or previous convictions.
